Extended Stay America Select Suites - Tallahassee - Northwest

Negatives: I recently attempted to check-in at the Extended Stay America on Tennessee St. in Tallahassee, Florida, but unfortunately, the experience was terrible from the start. When we arrived around midnight, there was no attendant, and we had to use a phone to call for assistance. The area was poorly lit, making us feel uneasy. After finally getting the attendant, we made our way to the elevator, which had peeling paint on the door and floor. When we entered the room, it was pitch black, but the light from the hallway allowed us to see the balled-up sheets on the bed from the doorway. However, the room's condition, including the heat and bad odor, was unacceptable. We immediately decided to leave and did not stay. As we were walking back to the elevator, we saw a man who appeared homeless. We then saw a roach on the door and decided to leave the premises. When we tried to call the front desk from my cell phone, no one answered. I had to call maintenance to get someone to assist us. The manager came down, and I explained the situation. He claimed the room was marked clean in his system and said he would process a refund. However, I have yet to receive confirmation of the refund. To add insult to injury, when I contacted the front desk to follow up on my refund, they informed me that the person responsible for processing refunds only works Monday through Friday. This means I'll have to wait even longer for resolution. Additionally, the booking department cannot assist me without the email confirmation, and they won't take my word for it, further delaying the process. Furthermore, the manager's appearance was shabby, and he seemed unprofessional. Based on our experience, I believe this hotel may be suitable for individuals who are homeless or struggling with addiction, as it appears to cater to those needs. However, for families, couples, or anyone concerned about safety, cleanliness, and reliability, I would strongly advise against it.

Negatives: The staff was unprofessional, the elevator smelled like marijuana, the blinds were broken, several cockroaches, a guy with a pit bull right next door, and you had the audacity to ask for a 100 deposit, there were homeless people all around the building, you will never get my business again

Negatives: Room was damp feeling and smelled of mildew. Dirty fixtures. Staff was preoccupied and not very welcoming.

Negatives: We got there a little early & were, of course, told to come back at 3. Np, we left & came back about 2:15pm, it was hot & we had nowhere else to go. There were only about 7 cars in the parking lot so there shouldn't have been a problem. I'm pretty sure their were rooms availabke, but we were left to stand in the waiting area since there was not a seating area watching other people get checked in until finally at about 2:50pm someone finally felt sorry for us & checked us in. There was no soap in our room & blankets were flimsy. Won't stay there again.
