Hotel is far from 4 stars and it is overpriced for what it offer. I had have dark small room with no view. No breakfast, no shower gel… just spartanics basic

Thanks to Chicago city hotel...
Positives:
The location was convenient and the coffee lounge on the second floor was a nice bonus. Also, the availability of guest laundry was unexpected.
Negatives:
We were unable to control the temperature in the room. We were told that during the fall/winter is set at a certain temperature. You can increase, but not decrease. During our stay the room temperature varied from a low of 73 up to 78. Very uncomfortable for sleeping. The window wouldn’t open, so we sweated. It is advertised as having in room climate control. This is not true. Be careful what you book. The lesser expensive rooms do not have refrigerators or microwaves. This is not clear in the online room reviews. Be advised that there is ice only on 1 floor per tower. More transparency would be appreciated.

Bed was so uncomfortable, room was dusty and dirty - clearly hadn't been cleaned. The HVAC system is either old or broken because it was extremely loud even when turned off. It was reaching over 50 decibels inside the room which went on all day and night for the full stay. Elevators were constantly breaking and extremely slow. They gave has $100 each night but that still wasn't worth enduring this horrible hotel. Book elsewhere.
