Positives: The location of the property was amazing. That was really the one thing that stood out as very good. Other than that, there was some other things that we didn’t love. I won’t stay there again.
Negatives: The sheets on the bed were like paper. They were extremely rough and very loud. Unlike any sheets, I’ve ever experienced. The pillows were very small and were squares and were very flat. Once you put your head on it, it went completely flat. You had to use three pillows to prop your head up at all. Very uncomfortable. As we were in the elevator going up to our room on the 15th floor, I received a phone call from the front desk saying please come back. We have already given that room to somebody else. When we went downstairs, back to the same guy he said don’t worry I’m going to take care of you really good right now. Then he puts us on the 22nd floor with no view at all. I’m staring at other windows and a brick wall of an alley. It was the worst view you could possibly have in Chicago. So he really took care of us apparently! But not in a good way. There was no air conditioning in the room and no one told us that they do not have air conditioning in the winter time. It’s only heater. However, the room was very hot and warm. Overall, it just wasn’t a great experience. Oh and I forgot one thing. The restaurant that was supposed to be opened from the actual hotel where they served breakfast was closed basically permanently. We were force fed to go to the Irish pub kitty O’Shea’s. So the food choices in the hotel were very poor. Again the location was the best thing about this hotel and although it’s pretty iconic, it should’ve felt like an iconic stay and it was nothing close to that.
