Negatives: The decor. The curtains were nice but clashed with the excessive patterns. Mainly the rug was a terrible pattern.

Negatives: Immediately upon entering the room there was a strong smell of a perfumed air scent (caused sensitivity). The hand soap dispenser by the sink was empty (shower had soap, so I used that soap). While a lovely large TV, there were no instructions on how to use DIRECT TV. Could get the remote to show me what I was looking for. Very frustrating. Most distressing was human hair on the sheets when I pulled them back. Could have meant that they were not laundered. I had to sleep ontop with a blanket I found in the closet area. Next morning staff indicated that her hair falls out easily, and if the hair was brown it was probably hers. While I appreciated the explanation, I was ready to go to sleep around 10, and didn't have her phone # to call and make her aware of the problem with the sheets, and TV remote, lack of soap by the sink, and strong smell. I had also asked originally for a handicapped access room, but they currently do not have one. It would also be helpful to have one where the strong scent is NOT used (for those of us that have sensitivity problems). Amanda, the 1 staff was very apologetic, but it made for a very uncomfortable night, I'm 75 with a mobility impairment, so getting a restful nights sleep after traveling 4 hours was imperative. I was not offered any discount for the issues I shared with Amanda. She was on property as the only staff, which made for a difficult situation, even if I had contacted at 10 pm. I would strongly recommend at least two staff on at all times (things come up). And possibly most important, a 3 ring binder that gives the phone number of who to call for "issues" once situated, and "cheat" sheet on how to use the remote for Direct TV, heater, anything else electronic.

Negatives: I didn't have time to stay longer.

Negatives: N/A. Everything was great.

Negatives: Young, rude owner. As a mother, I told him politely that I’d received a huge bite so he could get a pest treatment for the room. I showed him a photo of the bite and I did not even ask for a refund. I just let him know, as a property owner myself, to help him out. He DEMANDED I show him the exact bug that bit me and prove it. He was so aggressive about it, not at all regular customer service, that I gave up. Then he SHOUTED to “GET OFF MY PROPERTY!” when I’d only tried to help by alerting him to a normal but real problem. My goodness, rural properties especially get bugs, for him to be confrontational and disrespectful instead of just basic customer service was a big, ugly disappointment. Save your money (this place is also not at all pet friendly, pet UNFRIENDLY) and give it to anyone else. More rude than you usually find in this country. Worst customer service ever. Skip this rotten guy and support a decent small business.

Negatives: I arrived for check-in quite late at 10 PM. The front desk was unmanned and doors locked. I had not received any advance notice about this situation. However, there was a sign on the door that provided a phone number to call, which would then give me a code to a lock box by the front door which would contain my room key. Ok, problem solved. Except I called that number several times over a period of at least 20 minutes and it would go to voice mail, so I left a message. After 20 minutes and no return call, I contacted booking.com and they tried calling the property. No luck. While they were calling, I found another hotel 20 minutes away (in the opposite direction), called them to confirm they were open and had rooms available. I tried calling that Cod Cove Inn phone number one more time (it had now been about 35-40 minutes since I had arrived) and this time they answered, and I was able to easily get into the lock box and my room. In the morning the front desk attendant profusely apologized for the situation. Turns out he was the person that answered my phone call. Breakfast was below typical standards.

Negatives: Nothing really. There are no elevators and we were on the second floor so a bit of a hike up with luggage, but no real problem.

Negatives: Decor was a little off. The bedding was lovely and looked newer but the curtains were obviously older and clashed. Some of the furniture was dated/chipped.
