Hampton Inn By Hilton & Suites Newark-Harrison-Riverwalk

Negatives: Almost everything about this stay was disappointing. The room was not clean- trash under the beds, dust everywhere, a hole in the headboard with foam padding sticking out. All doors but the main entrance were locked despite freezing temps and parking being at the side entrances- loud sounds all throughout the night from other rooms.We stayed in this hotel specifically for the pool which was also closed. And on Sunday morning at 1am we were all woken up by a fire alarm. No one explained what was happening and there was no coordinated evacuation. We had a small child staying with us and this event was absolutely terrifying and interrupted our entire stay. We packed our bags and stayed in the car until the fire department showed up and we felt safe enough to go back inside. At checkout we were told someone was smoking in their room but that was it. I would never stay here again and we were really excited for this trip.

Negatives: My room bathroom wall was duty. I had some weird noise coming out of the bathroom ceiling.

Negatives: Everything, the staff was racist from the time we walked in the door , they harassed us the whole night while we were there so bad that we had to leave the premises . The check in attendant laughed in my daughter face as she was crying , and continued to laugh as I asked for the manager . We were racially profiled from the time we walked in the door to the card we used , I will never in my life come to a place like this again and I will be writing to corporate and encouraging any others not to come to stay there . They have ruined my daughter’s birthday. The harassment we have endured is something I never want to relive again . Not to mention the pool use was included in our stay but we have not been notified about that until after we paid our hard earned money

Negatives: No shuttle service, breakfast accommodations were not the best, no batter for waffles, cases were empty, one staff member to run a very busy breakfast station.

Negatives: Room was not properly cleaned. You can see dust inside the drawers. We had Breakfast at 7 am they run out of plates, per staff they dont have any to give, did not replenish some of the food.

Negatives: Why build a hotel next to railway but no double glazing or sound proofing. So noisy. Breakfast terrible. 40 seats for 200 People. Food ran out and what there was was mostly inedible. No towel in our room for shower. Had to use hand towel on first day. Daughters room toilet didn't flush. Not fixed first time we asked. Fixed on second go.

Negatives: the hotel was not clean all the carpet was dirty and housekeeping staff very unprofessional!!!
