Positives:
Nothing!
Negatives:
The room was dirty. End table had crumbs and dried liquid on it, the floor around the bed had dried stuff on it, the blanket had cigarette burns all over, there was mold on the shower curtain, the bed frame was on cheap metal that made a loud metal noise when you got into bed, and there was a very loud buzz noise that came and went the entire stay, coming from what I believe was a utility room on the other side of the wall. When I complained and requested another room I was told there was nothing they could do. I prepaid for 3 nights and was stuck there. I highly DO NOT recommend!
Review
Horrible, dirty experience!
Positives:
We chose this hotel purely as an overnight stop on our tour of the South and because we had discovered there was a Tina turner Museum in Brownsville as she grew up there. Although the hotel is out of town it turns out that the museum is on the same lot! The museum is really worth a visit, its part of the Delta Heritage Museum. They have relocated her school house from Nutbush and filled it with memorabilia. In particular they have Tinas outfits from her last big tour, its an amazing collection.
The hotel is typical of the brand with friendly staff and clean and comfortable rooms. While in town be sure to visit the world famous Helens BBQ where she cooks over a daily lit pit filled with beech wood, the potato salad is amazing too
