Positives:
Absolutely everything. The staff are so just perfect. They offered recommendations on what to do in the area. They gave me tips about living in the city. This was deeper than Southern Hospitality. I have been going through very hard times--understatement--and, it felt all the more beautiful and amazing and really was just a great advertisement for humanity, itself. Warm and welcoming, maybe more than I have ever experienced in my entire life, which is kind of sad, but also it felt so good, after having felt like everyone in the world hates me.
The room on the 5th floor has a gorgeous city view on the drag side (Guadalupe Street). Simply excellent.
The ambiance of the hotel is so comfortable. The decorations make you stop and stare. I didn't indulge in the tacos or music or events or mingle too much, but if you want a place to meet people and have some fun times, the lobby area was amazing as well. It's there if you want it, and if not, you don't have to bother with it.
Negatives:
So the only issue I had was there was no microwave in the room. And I eat mostly just microwaved
Oh, they don't bother me, personally, but I understand homeless can make some people uncomfortable. They didn't hang out around Moxy, but they are in the surrounding area, just like most cities. But there's also mostly just UT students walking around. I never felt unsafe, and I'm a generally anxious person.

Best Hotel I've Ever Stayed...
Positives:
Wow what a major disappointment!
Two positives:
Bed was comfortable
Location to campus was convenient
Negatives:
Long list of major disappointments:
Room reeked of men’s cologne from the minute I walked in. Either their cleaning products stink to high heaven or a prior guest spilled half a bottle of cologne.
Front desk staff very robotic, stiff, unfriendly and not grateful. I stay here frequently (4-6 times a year) and usually am welcomed warmly, especially by previous manager Avery. The man who replaced her had his nose stuck in his laptop the whole time I was checking in. Zero personality.
To pay $45 per night to park is outrageous!
To pay $20 extra just to check-in my room 30 minutes early is theft.
Water pressure is so low in sink & shower I took 3x longer to rinse off, so here’s a clue: you’re not saving any natural resources. Daddy and grandfather were plumbers (Joe Biden’s private home) - I understand plumbing issues best.
The housekeeper knocked on my door before 9am. Why? I have the room to 11am. Clean it after I leave! They didn’t even clean it the day before! No trash removal, dirty towel removal or replenishment of fresh towels - I had to call and ask them for clean towels.
No complimentary bottles of water. No mini fridge. No microwave. No coffee maker. Just the bare bones at high price points. Stop taking advantage of people who need to be near the university. And lastly, the guy at reception wouldn’t take the poker chip in exchange for a lousy bottle of water (bar was closed). I’m sure cocktails cost more than the $4 bottle of water.
“Think of yourself as a Customer.” And remember, “your paycheck is brought to you by the customer.” Marriott should be ashamed of itself.

Positives:
The, stunningly gorgeous young lady at the front desk had an extremely pleasant, brain-melting voice racked with sophistication and grace, though I was confused on whether or not she was misleading me about parking, claiming it was free after midnight. If not, I feel bad for suspicion, but this is also more an issue with the city parking.
The gentleman up front was likewise very helpful and analytically troubleshot my issues to the best of his constraints within the hotel parameters and was quite helpful.
However, there was a lot of important information that I needed that wasn't offered in advance, which made the customer service wanting.
Negatives:
The staff didn't tell me there were other parking options aside from the dirt parking lot by the hotel, behind the fallafal stand, for $12 an hour with ostensibly no cap and no data on a full days parking cost. So
When I got to my room, there was no bathroom or sink. It was ironic, because they have a Keurig....but no way to fill it with water. I found public restrooms right next to the room, but the staff did not inform me they even existed, so I thought there was literally no restrooms at all. Regardless, not fun.
The parking was $12 for 2 hours, and since I left and came back, I got double charged. This $105 deal ended up costing me $150 when counting parking. I could have stayed at the Hilton and gotten amazing service.
The real reason for this hotel seems to be a boink n go, if you catch my drift, or just a place to sleep while you spend most of the time outside the room exploring the renown 6th Street. I had no idea at the time. I'm a suburban man, the city is a mystery to me, and not a favorable one, even if interesting.
In any case, my experience was absolutely miserable after a long drive. But, I needed better customer service and more information. They somewhat acted as if it was to be expected that there would be no bathroom in a hotel room when you got it for $105. My first time ever experiencing that.

Positives:
Excellent location, highly walkable area. Staff was professional.
Negatives:
Bottom floor rooms are a bit loud with the foot traffic outside, consider some kind of noise dampening landscaping.
