Good
Positives:
The hotel was in a great location, we were able to walk everywhere in the center. 2/3 staff members we dealt with, were really friendly. We were able to store our luggage until check-in time too. The room was fine, the bed was comfortable and clean, the fridge was stacked, and the room itself was very spacious.
Negatives:
The building is old, so you hear every move through the wood. Our room was on the side of the road and if a truck passed, we could feel the bed shake. There was a wee cockroach in the bathroom. The airconditioning is also really loud so we had to turn it off throughout the night.

Positives:
The room was very clean.
Negatives:
The restaurant Ocho on Fri night was not overly welcoming. My husband and I ordered an appetizer and decided to share an entree. The server didn't bring us a second plate to share the meal and the chicken was really dry. The cocktail was not very good. For the price I had expected more. The room was clean but we had very few towels and only a few tissues. No tissue box ?? Only a few on a small tray, not very sanitary. Before arriving I had asked about upgrading to a larger room, the person I spoke with said my room would have a desk and lounge chair. Our room had neither. If I would have known I would have definitely upgraded for a little bit more space or a room with a chair versus having to use the bed to sit on for 2 days.

The location was safe.
Positives:
It was charming, a historic building but with some modern touches of decor that made it cool. The king room gave us plenty of space and a very comfortable bed. We also liked the adjacent porch that looked out toward the entrance to the River Walk. Parking next to the building was very convenient. The front desk staff was helpful and friendly.
Negatives:
The lounge chair was a little bit low-slung and my husband found it hard to get out of.
We were charged for two beers and a canned water beverage that we did not consume from the minibar, and it took a phone call plus a follow-up email to get all three charges taken off our folio.

There was only 1 mirror in the bathroom and it was more of an antique mirror so it was hard to see getting ready.
