Beautiful hotel, friendly staff, great...
Positives:
Location is ok
Negatives:
The valet left our car parked out front the whole stay. The car was repositioned & caused a ruckus with the neighbors using the port. Food & drink facilities close too early. Our room was shabby, smelled like an ashtray & needs a renovation. The room was dingy. The staff is really nice, from the front desk to the valet.

Positives:
The decor is unique and fun. Lots of details went into the design including funky artwork, light fixtures, and trendy paint colors. It had a whimsical atmosphere. I would prefer having a coffee maker in the room instead of a tea pot. Otherwise, outstanding stay.

Positives:
The room was clean and the hotel was close by a lot of the things we were doing during our stay so we didn't have to drive everywhere
Negatives:
There is no parking, and the "valet" service is not included in the already very high price so they can just park your car on the street somewhere and they charge you every day. The valet guy at the door also neglected to mention how much it was and they stole the carabeaner off my keys. the room description was also very misleading, we were supposed to have a 2 bedroom suite, with 2 bedrooms and a sitting room. we'll it was 1 bedroom and a sitting room with bunk beds in it, the sitting room and second bedroom are the same room. Not the worst place I've ever stayed but it was not worth what we paid

Not bad but not worth...

Superb
Positives:
We went to stay at the Graduate due to the proximity to the University (VCU). It was close and it delivered on its basic functions.
Negatives:
The breakfast was exceedingly expensive, particularly for what we actually received. The obligatory Richmond food/restaurant tax is absurd and is a disgrace. I will avoid Richmond in the future because of this. Not the hotel's fault, but they chose to be in city limits and put up with the absurd tax rules.
Review
More expensive than merited.
Negatives:
For the price, go 3 blocks away to the Quirk and you will get a gorgeous room and spotless service. This hotel had indifferent desk staff who could have cared less that our room wasn't ready and even when they took my number and promised to text me when we could get the key, I had to go ask and all of a sudden they were just about to contact me.
Speaking of texts, I got a nice welcoming text before we arrived and a note about how I could text them for anything we needed during our stay. I texted a question and never heard back. So why bother?
The king suite room we had smelled like stale cigarettes and didn't even have a single glass.
The coffee shop was so understaffed in Sat morning that they had a 20 min wait for a coffee.
All this for over $300 a night?! No thanks.
Seriously...for the same price, go to the Quirk
