We arrived at 11pm, after a 13 hour drive. The explanation of fees and instructions the reception staff gave was confusing and the manager kept interjecting.
I had just gotten the room keys and went to park my car and the manager called me back in. She informed me that she noticed I had five children instead of four, for a total of six people. I said yes one friend had decided last minute to come with us. She said I cannot let you stay here then because our rooms have a maximum capacity of five people. I asked about the fact that there were three double beds in our room, including the bed which typically means six people. Having six children I have travelled many times, to six people when there are three beds. She was very condescending and said, it clearly states on Booking.com that there is a five person maximum. I never saw such a thing And had not even thought about it.
I asked her what our options are because it was at that .1130 at night and I was travelling with five children. She said you can’t stay here. I said well, you’re the manager, so tell me what our options are. She repeated you can’t stay here we’re fully sold out. I said that I was going to have to find a hotel at 11:30 at night for six people. She said I’m sorry, but those are rules. I asked for a full refund which she stated they would issue, despite half being taken off by Booking.com.
Within 10 minutes, I found, a much nicer hotel and even a better location that allowed for six people in a suite. The new hotel also had a pool and free underground parking whereas this hotel was going to charge me. When we got to the hotel, they immediately upgraded us and gave us 2 suites for the price of one.we ended up having a wonderful weekend and it worked out in our favour that this manager was so inept.

it was supposed to be a no smoking room but the smell of cigarette was really strong and the rooms were mot really clean
