Positives: The room itself was fairly nice. I had no issue there. It was clean, the bed was comfy and the room was spacious. I was able to get some extra work done on the desk. It was by no means glamorous and the price was very high for the amenities provided.

Negatives: I haven't been to very many hotels that charge a $150 deposit to your credit card at check-in as a damage deposit. They told me that it would potentially be returned in 4 business days. How do I know that they won't just keep it? I guess we'll find out. The pool has been "Closed for maintenance" for several years at this point but of course they don't mention that on the booking websites. After a long day of travel, I was looking forward to a relaxing dip in the hot tub, and for the price I paid for the room, it was certainly deserved. The WIFI was simply awful! The hotel staff were not attentive or helpful, just going through the motions. The restaurant was not good and I had to send my steak back because it was way overcooked. I've stayed at other hotels in Meadow Lake, so I know that the competition is not very strong, but for $148 per night, you'd expect much better.
