Exceptional
Positives:
Historic hotel, in Down Town ABQ. Center City location. Way overpriced. Old building, nice remodeled with old time charme, but with some issues, like bathroom door was close to fall off the frame, lights in bathroom pretty dark, restaurant in the hotel is expensive with fancy food but prepared with out "love" , like greasy rice, burned aspargus and over cooked duck, tastless salmon.... not worth the money. Service personal and valet guys was verry friendly, except reception... like, we arrived, got the keys, got to the room . Came back out and forgot the room keys inside. Back down to reception to ask for a second key and he asked again for our ID. What was off course in the room and we was there not even 5 minutes ago ! Also you need to know, we feelt verry safe inside the hotel , because they have armed security ! Nice guys, but it gives you a bitter taste that they are necessary. Also next morning, we was looking for breakfast in the area and try to explore around the hotel, there was at least 5 times armed patrole teams walking around..... obviously the city has problems.....

Good
Positives:
The atmosphere at Hotel Andaluz was lovely, and the staff was friendly and accommodating.
Negatives:
Unfortunately, we experienced a number of issues that will likely prevent a return stay.
We arrived late after a long day of driving and just wanted to fall into bed. We entered the bathroom and found a toilet that was leaking water onto the floor. (Which I discovered when I stepped in it and got my socks wet).
We had planned for our 5-year-old to sleep on the sofa bed. When we pulled out the bed, no sheets were available, and the mattress was covered in hair and urine stains. Had we not been so tired, we might have requested a different room, but it was already after midnight, and our children were very tired. Our oldest daughter ended up sleeping in bed with us. (Youngest slept on the pack and play we brought.) Space was a little tight.
The next morning, we woke up and ordered room service, thinking we could pack while we waited for our food, eat, and then head out. We got everything packed and still had no food an hour later. During that time, an employee arrived and did seem to fix the issue with the toilet. I called room service again, and the kind woman I spoke to on the phone did offer to comp the meal, which we appreciated. Before we left, the toilet began leaking again.
Unfortunately, despite the kindness we experienced from the staff, I do not feel that the amount we paid for the room was worth the issues. After paying more than $300, I expected a top-notch experience. I did speak with Bryan at the front desk when we checked out, and he was very kind and understanding and shared my concerns with management. I had hoped hotel management would address the issues.
